The Kelpology Promise: Clean, Ethical, and Ocean-Safe

If you know me, you know I’m a nurse. My default setting is to look under the hood of everything. When I started Kelpology, I didn’t just want to make stuff that smelled pretty on a shelf. I wanted to make sure that from the second a piece of kelp leaves the Atlantic to the moment you rinse it off, everything is actually right.

Clean? No Sketchy Business. "Clean" is a buzzword people throw around at parties to sound fancy. For me, it’s a hard line. No parabens, no sulfates, and absolutely zero microplastics. You’d be shocked at how many "natural" scrubs still use plastic beads for grit. We’re not about to help turn the ocean into a plastic soup just so you can get a glow. Our "grit" is all-natural, marine-based, and biodegradable.

Ethical, Period. I’m a bit protective of my seaweed sources. We aren't here to strip-mine the ocean to sell a few more jars. We harvest our kelp from the Bay of Fundy using practices that actually let the beds regenerate and thrive. I’m a woman of science, so transparency is the only way I know how to operate. You shouldn’t have to guess if your skincare is causing problems somewhere else.

The "Rinse-Off" Reality. Everything you put on your body ends up in the water. When you rinse that scrub down the drain, you’re part of the water cycle. That’s why it was a deal-breaker for me that every single ingredient we use be non-toxic to marine life.

I’m slightly obsessed with ocean conservation—and if you’ve seen my search history, you know I have a minor orca fixation—so the last thing I’d ever do is make a product that hurts the very ecosystems I admire. When you use Kelpology, you’re using something that’s as safe for the ocean as it is for your own skin.
